​The original floorboards were retained where possible with new floorboards installed in the remaining areas. All wooden floors were sanded and treated with white pigmented oil. The kitchen consists of common base units from IKEA with customised doors. The worktop and splashback with integrated shelf are made of LG hi macs in a matching beige color. In order to further support the uniform, monolithic character of the kitchen and to emphasise the smooth, large surfaces, a sink made of the same material was used. In addition, push door openers were preferred to common door handles. To prevent making the room feel smaller wall cabinets were also dispensed with. Instead, the long shelf above the splashback offers storage space and houses a LED Strip light.
