Positioned above a ravine, or Talud, the house spans the natural opening in the ground through a sequence of structural volumes that carry the horizontal slabs. These slabs not only bridge the site but also extend beyond the façade, creating deep overhangs that provide shade and emphasise the building’s horizontal form. The interplay between the grounded volumes and the projecting slabs defines the distinctive architectural character.
A ribbed concrete finish grounds the lower level, echoing the rugged texture of the ravine’s rock formations. On the first floor, sandy render softens the expression and integrates the building more naturally into its landscape. The cantilevered slabs remain exposed along their edges, their smooth concrete contrasting with the rougher rendered and ribbed surfaces, highlighting the layered materiality of the design.
